We sought tutoring for our daughter to build her confidence in reading and math as she navigates first grade. Before working with Eliko, she felt stressed by new academic challenges. Now, her reading fluency has improved, she’s solving math problems more independently, and most importantly, she’s developed a love for learning.

One of the biggest transformations we’ve seen is in her social and emotional development, both in an academic setting and when interacting with peers. She’s more self-assured and eager to participate. She approaches challenges with a positive mindset, expresses herself more comfortably, and is more open to collaborate when engaging with classmates.

Eliko’s patient and encouraging teaching style makes learning fun, which keeps our daughter motivated and engaged. We highly recommend her to other families. Eliko is a remarkable teacher who has been able to partner with us to develop effective strategies for helping our son in both reading and math.  She brings joy, enthusiasm and humor to her teaching and our son looks forward to their sessions together.  She has a keen understanding of the ways in which confidence and capability intersect and this has enabled her to co-develop with us a series of strategies that have not only dramatically increased our son's proficiency but also the confidence he brings to his work in and outside of school.  Specifically, our son's fluency in reading has significantly improved and this newfound ease in reading is causing him to want to read more independently which is causing further improvements.  In math he has cemented his understanding of basic arithmetical concepts but also has learned more flexible approaches to problems.  In applying different ways of thinking, he is developing a deeper understanding of what he is learning and this is making it much more interesting for him than trying to remember what may seem like arbitrary rules.
